The Financial Counselling team at Gamblers Help Southern are trained Financial Counsellors who are able to offer practical advice about people’s finances. They look at the financial situation of the client including income, expenses, assets and liabilities.
Depending on the situation, the Financial Counsellor provides information about the clients day to day financial rights and responsibilities. Issues such as credit and loan contracts, fines, bankruptcy, utility bills, mortgages, rent and Social Security entitlements may need to be looked into.
Our team are experienced in dealing with creditors and can negotiate on the client’s behalf by contacting Government departments, Banks, Finances Companies, Debt Collectors, Utility Companies and Rental Agents.
The team also offers information about possible Government Assistance schemes and Superannuation entitlements.
The Counsellors are in the clients' local areas so are able refer to other Consumer Organisations in the area.
